The EU AI Act is the European Union's regulation for artificial intelligence. It uses a risk-based approach: some uses are banned, high-risk systems face strict requirements such as documentation, transparency and human oversight, and other systems have lighter transparency obligations. Its obligations are being phased in over several years.
Broadly, if you develop, deploy or place an AI system on the EU market, or its output is used in the EU, the AI Act can apply, wherever your company is based. What you must do depends on your system's risk category, which is the first thing we help you determine.
