MQL4 to MQL5 conversion means rebuilding a MetaTrader 4 Expert Advisor or indicator in MQL5 so it runs on MetaTrader 5. It is not a recompile: MQL4 is order-based and MQL5 is position-based, so the order handling has to be rewritten around the new model. MQL4 and MQL5 are separate languages with different order models: MQL4 is order-based, MQL5 is position-based. So an MT4 EA has to be rewritten in MQL5 rather than recompiled, which is exactly the conversion we do. More on this in MQL5 vs MQL4.
The original .mq4 source makes conversion faster and cleaner, but it is not always required. In many cases we can rebuild from a compiled EA plus a clear description of its behaviour. We confirm what is possible before we start.
